About the prototype:
The tank wagons in this set (both built in 1943) were originally part of water supply train No. 10 at the Seelze depot, serving as a water reserve during high forest fire risks. In May/June 1991, they were repainted yellow in AW Paderborn and converted into water wagons for the "Wilhelm Köhler" fire extinguishing train, stationed at the Seelze marshalling yard from 1992. The train was named after the former head of the Leinhausen railway fire brigade.
The complete train consisted of these two water wagons and a central extinguishing agent wagon equipped with pumps. In the event of a fire along the tracks, 2x 48,000 liters of water in the wagons and 20,000 liters of extinguishing agents were available simultaneously. The wagons were retired in 2000 and have since been used for training purposes at the THW technical relief school in Hoya.
